The second edition of the International film festival Earth Talks begins on 6 October 2017. This prestigous and competitive festival attracts celebrities and filmmakers and will again offer a unique atmosphere, connecting the world of film, entertainment and the will to live in accordance with the sustainability of life on this planet.
“This year we have had 853 films submitted to the festival from 81 countries from around the world. I am very pleased with the interest of filmmakers about our festival, hopefully there will be plenty to choose from,“ reveals the founder and festival director Fratišek Štefan with regard to the closure of the registration of films in the competition.
The jury can shortlist only 80 films in a total of 7 different competitive categories, all of which will be screened during the festival in Prague. This year the evaluation of the films will also involve the festival goers’ as well. This year for the first time, in addition to the traditional awards from the international jury, there will be an award voted on by the attending public.
Additionally, this year we can look forward to a showcase of documentary films from around the world, lectures with experts, discussions with directors and producers, workshops, themed events, concerts, exhibitions and a program for children. In October, Earth Talks will start the festival with the award winning films and an accompanying program for regional and selected district towns around the Czech Republic.
