We are very proud that international director, producer, writer and adventurer Steve Lichtag has accepted our offer to become Honorary President of the festival.
“My wish is that Earth Talks will highlight global awareness, be visited by interesting guests, but mainly, that people of all ages will grow to love and understand what value nature brings them”
Steve Lichtag started his career as an actor and even taught acting at Florida Academy of Dramatic Arts. However, for the past 25 years he has been devoted to film making, producing and directing both feature length films and documentaries. So far he has helped create more than 20 documentary films. Currently he is working exclusively on full length films. His films have earned more than 60 awards from all over the world.
Steve Lichtag’s productions clearly prove that it makes sense to create documentary films and not just films for entertainment. Two documentaries have had a major effect on society. Dance of the Blue Angels contributed to the entry of the Czech Republic into the International.
Whaling Commission, while Bizarre World contributed to the adjustment of the law on the use of electrical current in the management of the trout streams.
“Film is a magical tool. Not only does it bring up emotions in people, but thanks to the image it saves millions of words. Based on the image you can easily start discussions, it is simply the most effective way to highlight the issue to the general public.” the President of the festival gave as a simple explanation
Steve Lichtag has cooperated with the Earth Talks festival before, last year presiding over the international jury of experts at Ekotopfilm, which chose the winning film in each category. These films played a major role in the festivals’ tour around the Czech Republic. The festival, with its campaign that particularly draws attention to the extinction of endangered species, visited 50 cities.
